Since 2001, the Miss Earth organization has created a platform for women and girls to experience the glamour of the beauty pageant industry while making an impact on our most pressing environmental issues around the globe.
The Miss Earth USA organization offers two divisions that advance to the international stage for married and unmarried women. Additional competition divisions for Teens and Junior Ambassadors are scholarship and mentorship programs to help these influential young women gain experience and recognition for their achievements.
In partnership with our official 501(c)3 nonprofit organization B4ACUSA, the Miss Earth USA organization values more than beauty. We are Beauties for a CauseĀ®.
While I had a lovely time advocating for the environment and volunteering countless hours for causes near and dear to my heart, I have to say my overall experience with the former Mrs. Earth pageant (2021) was poor. The state pageant was not a great experience and girls were yelled at time and time again. I tried to follow through with my commitment and continue with the national pageant despite my already questionable experience with state. The national pageant was low budget and abusive. Some key takeaways: I was told by the Nevada pageant director that my tattoos "take away" from my stage presence and I was to cover-up for nationals. I was told by my state director, verbatim, "Keep working out, you want to win don't you?" after being encouraged to loose weight during a private meeting. This conversation was not about fitness in any way. I was promised by the state director that my flight to nationals would be compensated and this promise was never delivered upon. My husband was present for this conversation. She also mentioned that the Miss Division was more important that the Mrs. Division because the Mrs. were on the "tail end of things", a direct quote. Overall, a lot of projection in my opinion. I was also treated very poorly by national staff. Keep in mind, this is how they treated a Mrs. and this pageant was running from teen and up. During the national pageant week, we were taken to volunteer at an environmental cleanup in the heat outside and then taken directly to events where there was no water provided. The events that they labeled as "galas" had coffee and donuts. I want to also note that prize packages won were never delivered. My husband was present for this specific conversation about a prize that was never delivered upon. I truly don't see where the funds went in regard to the experience given to the delegates. I will end this review with saying that I am extremely proud with my commitment to my platform and my countless volunteer hours despite being disappointed with the overall management of my experience otherwise.Show less
