Miss Eco International 2019

The Miss Eco International 2019 pageant ended with Suheyn Cipriani winning the title of Miss Eco International 2019, however in 2020 Suheyn Cipriani was dethroned due to becoming pregnant after the 2020 pageant was postponed due to COVID -19, Amy Nur Tinie Abdul Aziz received the title to finish the reign.

The Top 5 finalists at the Miss Eco International 2019 pageant were:

First Runner-Up - Maureen Montagne
Second Runner-Up - Jordan Elizabeth
Third Runner-Up - Diana Voliakova
Fourth Runner-Up - Amy Nur Tinie Abdul Aziz

Miss Eco International pageant officials have announced Suheyn Cipriani, of Peru, will not continue her reign as Miss Eco International 2019, due to becoming pregnant after the 2020 contest was postponed due to COVID-19. Amy Nur Tinie Abdul Aziz, of Malaysia, will take over the crown and complete the reign after finishing fourth runner-up in the 2019 pageant.

“Ms. Cipriani had agreed to the rules from the moment she filled her application form. The hectic schedule of the Miss Eco winner is unsuitable for pregnant women,” said Miss Eco International in a statement posted to Facebook. “We feel sad that Ms. Cipriani is unconvinced and insists the rules made her feel uncomfortable and burdensome. However, we think that she did a great job as our Miss Eco 2019 till now in performing her duties.”

The first runner-up, Maureen Montagne declined the title in order to compete at Binibining Pilipinas. In a Facebook statement, Montagne said, “I will continue to chase my dreams of competing on the BBP stage in hopes of representing our country on the international stage. I am thankful for the opportunities I have been offered this week by the Miss Eco International Organization to whom I will always be thankful to, but I know deep down I need to do what’s right in my heart.”

Miss Eco U.S. 2019 Jordan Elizabeth, who finished second runner-up, said in a Facebook video the organization never reached out to her to ask her to assume the title due to her now holding the Miss Glam World USA title.

"To be completely honest, I don’t think I would have accepted the title if presented. The issue is, I was never even given the opportunity to accept or decline, even though my situation is exactly the same as Philippines," said Elizabeth in a statement emailed to Pageant Planet. "I was appointed the title of Miss Glam World USA in March, after the International pageant was to take place but have yet to compete due to Covid-19. As far as my past Title of Miss Eco USA; I fulfilled all of my obligations and crowned my successor back in February. During Internationals 2019 no contract was ever signed stating I could not compete in another system once my reign was up."

Miss Eco International has not responded to Pageant Planet's request for comment.

Full statement from Jordan Elizabeth, Miss Eco U.S. 2019:

I would like to start off by saying how grateful I am for all of the support I’ve been getting from not only my Sister Queens, but from the pageant community around the world. This is what pageantry is all about, so thank you.

I want to be clear, when I made my initial video on Instagram, my intentions were not to belittle the Miss Eco International Pageant. It was to shed light on a unjust situation. I’m my opinion Miss Eco International 2019 fulfilled her obligations (the date of the International pageant was to be in March) and was asked to step down due to circumstances that presented themselves. A lot has happened in the last few months and I personally feel it is very inappropriate to ask a title holder to step down, especially with a pandemic going on and the fact that Miss Eco International has been postponed twice now. The Director of the Pageant Dr. Amaal, felt differently.

When asked to take over the position of Miss Eco International, it is my understanding that the First Runner up, Philippines respectfully declined because her heart was set on representing her amazing country in a different pageant. Instead of following the proper protocols, the Director Dr. Amaal, decided to take matters into her own hands and reach out to the contestant she felt fit for the title. Myself, 2nd runner up was never contacted or even given the opportunity to have a conversation. To be completely honest, I don’t think I would have accepted the title if presented, the issue is, I was never even given the opportunity to accept or decline, even though my situation is exactly the same as Philippines.

I was appointed the title of Miss Glam World USA in March, after the International pageant was to take place but have yet to compete due to Covid-19. As far as my past Title of Miss Eco USA; I fulfilled all of my obligations and crowned my successor back in February. If that is a rule, the Director of Miss Eco International needs make sure she is presenting that contract to all of her contestants ahead of time. Dr. Amaal’s behavior has been completely unprofessional and belittling to not only me, but other contestants.

I wish nothing but the best for my friend and our New Miss Eco international 2019, Malaysia . I pray she stays safe during this scary time in our world. As far as the owner and Director of Miss Eco International, I hope she realizes the truth always comes out and her mistreatment of the staff and contestants can no longer be hidden. That system deserves better, her staff deserves better, but most importantly the women who compete deserve better. Bullying will never be tolerated and I ask all contestants, directors or anyone who’s worked with her and witnessed her behavior to use this opportunity to speak up. #SisterQueensUnite
