The Miss Namibia Pageant was originally founded in 1980 to select delegates to send to the Miss Universe pageant, however, in 1986 the organization sent its first delegate to the Miss World pageant. Now the Miss Namibia pageant offers women ages 17-25 the opportunity to represent their represent and promote her and her countries interests on an international scale.
"The Miss Namibia Pageant celebrates beauty with a charitable cause, by crowning one deserving young woman to carry the title of Miss Namibia. This honor initiates her drive to bring charity to the less-privileged; to promote deserving social causes; to serve as an example of purposeful living by the young and to bring honor and pride to our Nation as a representative of goodwill and an ambassador for Namibia"
