It was the passion for developing strong young women that led Lisa Franchini and Tracy Hales to start the All American Girl Youth Development Program. This scholarship program exists for the purpose of providing personal growth and leadership skills for tomorrow’s women. They were determined to emphasize the positives and eliminate the negatives associated with pageantry. They felt it was important to provide a wholesome, ethical competition that not only contestants but their entire family could enjoy. They believed in creating an environment where contestants could grow, mature, and develop. They wanted to provide girls the opportunity to exhibit their talents, personalities, interpersonal skills, and sportsmanship that would further enhance their lives and provide direction as they pursue their ambitions.
In All American Girl we are searching for a natural, genuine young lady to represent our program. She should be charming and personable; well groomed and poised; self-confident; and above all have the character, humility and inner beauty that set her apart as a leader. An All American Girl is comfortable in a crowd and is respectful of those around her. Her manners, dress and behavior are age appropriate. It is important to note that the concept of "beauty" in All American Girl is defined as a person's "inner beauty" and strength of character combined with her ability to communicate effectively with others. This program’s purpose is not to place emphasis on physical beauty, but rather to seek the self-confident person who is the all American girl.
Moving forward, the All American Girl Youth Development Program will continue to teach girls the power of giving back to their community by supporting Autism Speaks, alongside local charities within their community. Helping our children learn the value of giving back provides them with tools that they will be able to use in their lifetime.
As Lisa and Tracy continue to grow this pageant, they have had the pleasure to observe girls who have gone through the program grow into amazing young women. “There is nothing better than to see one of our girls achieving their goals” Lisa Franchini
