America's Elite Miss is a National Scholarship Pageant, currently held in Atlanta every January. Young ladies compete in Interview, Personal Introduction and Formal wear and in addition to crowning 5 National Division Queens, the National Ambassador Program allows 4 additional young ladies to wear the AEM crown. Ambassadors are selected based off community service involvement, academics and their passion to represent their state or regional title leading into the National Pageant. AEM accepts only 25 delegates per division, all appointed titles relevant to the state or region they reside in. Having QUALITY delegates over Quantity is very important as the goal is to get to know each young lady prior to the National Pageant and be available at any time to answer any and all questions to help delegates prepare for the weekend pageant. Interview counts for 40% of the score and that is broken down into 3 sub-scores. Bio/picture page, attire and overall presentation and confidence, knowledge of bio and personality. Interview format is round robin with 3-5 judges and for a time period of 3-5 minutes (depending on division). Personal Introduction counts for 20% of the overall score and delegates have up to 60 seconds. It is broken into 3 sub-scores, content, delivery and confidence. A choice of topics is given to delegates when they have registered. Formal wear counts for 30% of the score and is also broken into 3 sub-scores, attire, stage presence and overall impression/poise. America's Elite Miss delegates are given a detailed handbook outlining all attire guidelines, Hair and Make-Up guidelines and in depth information on how to prepare to be amazing on stage. There are currently 7 optional competitions and to enhance the entire pageant weekend experience, TWO optionals are included in the lower than average National Pageant registration fees. Giving each delegate the opportunity to walk on stage and compete in a verbal optional will prepare them for when they are competing in the required areas of competition - in other words - practice and work out any nervousness beforehand! The optionals are priced to allow each delegate the opportunity to compete in those she feels are her strength and take advantage of the full 3 day pageant weekend experience. Keeping it affordable without compromising the production or prize package is a priority. All delegates receive an amazing swag bag, select breakfast food and beverage from the Elite Pantry to ensure they have something to grab and go if they are running a little behind and need a quick pick me up. The Elite Boutique is our own little shop that sells a variety of AEM products or anything that glitters or is blinged out (every pageant girl loves a little bling) and 100% of the proceeds are divided between the Wounded Warriors and the AEM Scholarship Fund. There is Painting for a Purpose Night where for a $25 donation, you will join the group in painting a canvas to take home and 100% of the proceeds will go to the allocated charity (TBD for 2018). No pageant would be complete with a party so this year we will be P-Jammin' for a Cure to benefit St. Judes Hospital and each delegate is challenged to raise a minimum of $50 to attend and P-Jam the night away. With the generosity of our parents and sponsors, we hold a silent auction and for the 2nd year, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to C.O.P.S. We like to say America's Elite Miss is the pageant where Glamour meets Giving. in 2018, we will have a fun day doing something unique - Snow Mountain and inner tubing in REAL snow! A fun day to just be girls and create memories. What else is Unique to Elite? We include your weekend moments on and off the stage - all captured by our staff photographer, Frank Carnaggio in your registration fee. We have two of the best emcees in 2018 - Mallory Hagan - Miss America 2013 and Tonya Terry, author and news anchor. Our choreography is being left to Teresa Keddy, dance instructor to her America's Got Talent Finalist dance team! Experience judges who are vetted, interviewed and go through our "judges academy". Scoring is handled by Genie Tally PLUS scores AND comments are returned to every delegates post pageant. Our judges are encouraged to write constructive comments to make each delegate stronger for her next time on the stage! From cash prizes to travel, attire to photoshoots, community service to our "girls trip" - AEM is preparing each young lady to be advocates in their school and community, empowering them to be the best they can be and reminding them they are perfect just the way they are. In 2018 our delegates will have the opportunity to attend Mallory Hagan's group session -Pageant Prep 101 or sign up for private coaching prior to competition starting.
