About Miss Massachusetts Volunteer
Here, contestants will have the opportunity to shine and showcase their unique qualities as they compete for the titles of Miss Massachusetts Volunteer and Miss Massachusetts Teen Volunteer.
Date and Venue:
The grand crowning event will take place at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT 06096, on February 25th-26th, 2023. Don't miss this chance to be part of an extraordinary experience. The pageant entry fee is $695.
Competition Phases and Scoring:
Interview (25% of Score):
The interview phase is the first opportunity for contestants to connect with the judges on a personal level. A 10-minute private interview allows them to express their aspirations and the roles they envision within our organization. Contestants will be informed when they have 90 seconds remaining to wrap up their thoughts.
Talent (25% of Score):
In the Talent segment, contestants get to showcase their dedication and proficiency in their preferred art form. While traditional talents like singing, dancing, playing instruments, and dramatic performances are welcome, unique skills such as speed painting, baton twirling, and career-interest monologues are encouraged.
Fitness & Wellness (25% of Score):
The Fitness & Wellness phase is not about a contestant's size or shape, but about displaying a healthy lifestyle and mind-body balance. Miss contestants should wear a 1 or 2-piece swimsuit with heels, while Teen contestants should don fitness/yoga wear with sneakers. Judges will assess confidence, charisma, and dedication on stage.
Evening Gown (25% of Score):
The Evening Gown competition emphasizes the contestant's elegance, poise, and stage presence. Judges will focus on the contestant wearing the dress rather than the dress itself. The primary factors considered are the appropriateness of the gown and the contestant's personality and confidence.
Top Five and On Stage Question:
Upon reaching the Top Five, contestants will face an on-stage question. Although this question will not contribute to the scoring, judges will observe the finalists before casting their final ballots. Each contestant will receive a unique question and have 30 seconds to provide her response.
